Q: Email - How do I set up an email form?

A: Read this link http://llizard.cwahi.net/tutorials/php-mailform.html created by one of our very helpful members.

Q: Email - Can't connect to send email

Q: Email client can't connect to send

A: Port 25 may be banned: try port 2025 instead

Q: Email - Webmail works but my client keeps asking me for my password

Q: Webmail works but my client keeps asking me for my password over and over

A: Two things:

     1. Make sure you are considered Ad Free or higher
     2. Make sure your username@cwahi.net is used to login (not just username)

Q: Email - My Time is waaaay off when I send email to people!

Q: My Time is waaaay off when I send email to people!

A: No problem - change your time zone by going to the webmail tab in your account, then to "Options", and then "Personal Options". You'll find the time zone field in there.

Q: Email - Settings

Q: What are the settings for POP/SMTP email so I can use my own program like Outlook Express or Eudora, etc.?

A: For free accounts (with banner ads), please use the Web Mail tab after logging into your account.

For ad-free accounts, use the following: incoming (POP3/IMAP) use pop.cwahi.net and for outgoing, use mail.cwahi.net and your username and password. Remember that it is case-sensitive, and your username should only contain lower case characters.

Your outgoing (SMTP) port should be set to the default 25. However, if you have trouble sending with that port (some companies ban that port to prevent non-work related activities!), try changing it to  2025.

The incoming (POP3) port does not need to be modified.

Eudora note: You will need to hand-modify the eudora.ini file in notepad if you change the outgoing port to 2025.

To change the port for your Outgoing server, find the line:
SMTPServer=mail.cwahi.net

Just after it, add:
SMTPPort=2025
(exactly like that, on its own line)

Repeat for each of your CWahi accounts which you check in Eudora.

Q: Email - I can't send from my account, and I was able to earlier today

Q: I can't send from my account, and I was able to earlier today, so I'm sure the settings are all correct.

A: If you have sent a lot of email today, you may have hit your daily spam-buster limit of 200. Please try again tomorrow.

Q: Email - Why do you rate limit email to 200 per day?

Q: Why do you rate limit email to 200 per day?

A: The reality is that since it's a free service, not everyone who signs up will have innocent motives in mind. We've been there before, and learned how to deal effectively with the more unpleasant side of the coin. Rate limiting outgoing email is an anti-spam feature that has worked well in the past. Most members will never notice the limitation, because 200 email is a lot for most people. If you operate a mailing list, it may be that you need to consider the mailing list option we have available for members for a small monthly or yearly fee.

Q: Email - I need to send a pile of email out to a mailing list

Q: I need to send a pile of email out to a mailing list, can I do that here?

A: Due to stringent anti-spam measures (which protects members one and all) we have a limit of 200 outgoing emails per account, per 24 hours. If you are in need of a mailing list utility, we do offer that for a small fee.

Q: Email - I can receive, but not send...

Q: I can receive, but not send...

A: If you haven't hit your daily quota of 200, it could be that your location (work, school, etc) has banned the outgoing port 25. Try changing your outgoing port to 2025. If you did, and it's set correctly, it may be that your ISP or network admin has banned that port also, and you will need to speak to them about freeing it up, or use webmail.

If all else fails, you should still be able to use the webmail option to send email from your account.
